Chachaqua Rain Forest in Costa Rica
The Access Adventure Camp will be held at the Chachaqua Rain Forest Hotel Resort. This paradise is nestled in the eastern foothills of the Tilaran mountain range, which is one of the most biologically diverse areas in all of Costa Rica! You’ll see thousands of species of tropical plants, animals and birds!  The property is only ten minutes away from Fortuna where 86% of all tourists to Costa Rica visit to see the amazing Volcano Arenal.

Rooms
Each beautiful suite has two double beds, a private hot water shower, a ceiling fan, and a porch area for nature viewing. Each room will be shared by 2-4 campers of the same gender. We’ve found that teens enjoy being four to a room at camp! If you would prefer not to share a double bed, please register early and note the difference in price.

Adults will be in rooms adjacent to campers and bed checks will be performed nightly.  We want to make sure everyone is getting their beauty rest since our days will be so full of activity.

Food
Part of the property is still maintained as a working ranch and you will be able to see a variety of fruits and vegetables such as pineapple, papaya, manioc, squashes, and black beans growing right on the farm. Beef, poultry, eggs, milk, and cheese are all also produced on the ranch. Much of the food you eat will be local.  It will all be fresh and delicious, and there will be plenty of familiar options.

Plants & Animals
This rain forest is home to many birds such as the blue-gray tanager, the passerinii,  red-legged honey-creeper,  white-crowned flycatcher,  these among other one hundred species.   Amongst the mammals  of the area, you can find the northern raccoon,  the white nosed coati,  the howler monkey and larger species such as the ocelot,  the jaguar and two species of sloths.  You will be riding horses and hiking along side many of these magnificent species daily.
